Introduction:
The Government of Bangladesh plans to introduce e-Policing systems to five police stations of the capital to equip the technologically backward law-enforcement agency with modern Internet facility.

This will provide people with the opportunity to register cases electronically, replacing the need for physical presence at mostly emplacement police stations.

The authority of Bangladesh Police has desired to implement this scheme in phases. In this connection, initially, it has targeted to automate and computerizing system for five police stations within the greatest Dhaka Metro Politan City as pilot basis.

Daffodil Computers takes this opportunity to preparing proto type software based on their requirement. In this regards and respect, we have got an approval from the authority of Bangladesh Police to prepare a case study reports and proto type software to make a presentation for proposed Mohammadpur Thana.

It is also almost prepared and completed the proposed project and taking arrangement to present them accordingly.

Scope of the project
The following facilitates will be available through the computerizing systems.

• All police stations will have Internet connections and their own web sites.
• People will be able to file general diary (GD) and first information report (FIR) through the Internet, after which police will supply printed acknowledgement.
• To reduce the hassle of record-keeping, database for charge sheet or FIR will be developed.
• A secret web-based database of criminals of particular areas under the police station will also be developed.
• An electronic register will be developed to keep records and statistics of arrests, attendance of officials, accounts of the police station etc.
• Police officials on the move, within their areas, will be able to get connected to the database at the police station via Internet phone.
• A geographic information system (GIS) will be developed for crime mapping and identifying areas with crime incidents criminals.
• Training for the Police officers on using Computer
• Web based complaint facility to public

Functions of Police
The base of Bangladesh Police is Thana. It is keeping all records which are related to law and order of a particular area. Following are maintained in a Thana i.e.

• Maintaining GD
• Keeping record of local criminals and crimes
• Arms and ammunition list recording
• Aware local people about law and order
• Investigating cases by the Inspector/Sub Inspectors and preparing charge sheet if necessary
• Reporting to higher authority regularly.
